yuletide! tide of yule!
Hello, wonderful yuletider! First of all, let me say that I am DELIGHTED to have you writing for me, and that I will adore absolutely anything that you write, because STORY! For ME!
...but since that's not a lot to go on, here's some more information.
Generally:
I don't care for: death, pining that doesn't get resolved, rape, torture and abuse, incest.
I like: shenanigans, snappy dialogue, domesticity, porn, teams, stories about characters teaching and learning, stories about making the world a better place, stories about local government, stories with kittens in them, stories with babies in them, smart and competent characters, characters who have to make difficult decisions, absurdly codependent bff pairings, outsider POV, obliviousness, awkwardness, pining that gets resolved, roadtrips, bodyswap, fucking around with gender, cross-dressing, epistolary fic, libraries, historical retellings, cuddling (for warmth or otherwise), characters taking care of each other, negotiation of kinks, threesomes and moresomes, stories with sex toys in them, shenanigans.
Obviously, some of those things will work better in certain fandoms than in others! But if you want to write me a Yeine/Itempas/Nahadoth story about local government, you should feel free to do so! ...because that would be amazing. *_____*
The Good Wife (Kalinda Sharma): KALINDA. Seriously, I would read Kalinda/anybody, or just gen about Kalinda - how she got the be the person she is, how she sees the world, how people see her. I am fascinated by her interactions with Cary and Dana, but, really, KALINDA.
...I really don't know how I can elaborate on this. Kalinda is my absolute favorite character, so anything involving her would make me happy. I love how sharp she is, how clever and how dangerous and how absolutely willing to use every tool at her disposal in order to get what she wants. I love how she protects the people she cares about. I love how she always, always has another plan ready to implement.
Parks and Recreation (Leslie Knope/Ben Wyatt): I love these two together and separately - I love how they're both so human, how they have their issues and their difficulties and how they make it work (eventually).
True story: I went back and revised my yuletide signup so that I could include these two, because I hadn't thought the show would qualify when I initially signed up. BUT IT DID AND THAT IS GREAT. I love everything about the show, honestly - there is LIT-RALLY not a single person I don't totally adore, even if some of them I also hate a little - so I would definitely love something that involved the whole cast? But mostly I just love Ben and Leslie and their stupid-for-each-other faces. I love how they're both ridiculous faily human beings, and I love how they're both really fucking good at their jobs, and I love how neither one of those facts outweighs or negates the other - they're just things that they have to deal with, and that they do deal with, with varying degrees of success. I LOVE THEIR STUPID FACES AND I WANT THEM TO BE HAPPY AND RUN THE WORLD TOGETHER and if you wrote me kidfic or arranged-marriage fic or anything ridiculously over the top I would be delighted BUT I WILL LIKE OTHER THINGS TOO, OKAY, I CONTAIN MULTITUDES.
Lynn Flewelling - Tamir Trilogy (Ki/Tamir): I'd love to read about Tamir and Ki in the aftermath of the war - how they adjust, how they move forward, what their lives are like after the period the books cover.
Taken DIRECTLY from my yuletide request from two years back, because I still want fic in this 'verse like burning. Basically, I love Tobin/Tamir and Ki. A LOT. I love a lot of the other characters, too! But mainly I love the relationship between the two of them—the trust and the respect and the protectiveness and the love even before they realize that's what it is. I'd really love futurefic about the two of them, moving forward and adjusting to life after the war, adjusting to being in power, building the new capital together—but I'd also love things set during the series, maybe about misadventures they had together in Ero? Basically, I SHIP THEM REALLY HARD, so the fact that you're writing fic about them at ALL is going to be really awesome, so. *hands* I'm easy!
Inheritance Trilogy - N.K. Jemisin (Yeine / Itempas / Nahadoth): I just love these three characters, in every possible permutation - anything at all that you write about them will be a total delight. Fucked-up codependent threesome of my HEART.
Anything, anything about these three and their interactions. I love how insane about each other they all are, and how much they do love each other despite their struggles, and how that doesn't at all keep them from fucking up massively. I love the world of this trilogy, too, so any kind of worldbuilding or outsider perspective would be thrilling. And while I'm generally not a huge fan of incest or death, with this canon? I am willing to make exceptions, because, um. Yeah.
