the futon, otoh, is EXTREMELY STURDY
First off, MASSIVE FLAILY THANKS to
brooklinegirl,
mrsronweasley,
drlense,
ldthomps,
giddygeek, and
bathsweaver for all of their help with the move yesterday. It was AMAZING and a million times smoother than any of us (or
lordessrenegade and I, at least) had expected, and also FAST LIKE LIGHTNING. THANK YOU ALL.
(ps, one of you left a Red Sox baseball cap on our kitchen table?)
But. Okay. So the thing you have to understand is that in the following pictures, I am TOTALLY INNOCENT.
But. Well. Um.
First off, last night I was in the kitchen, dooting around and waiting for Jai to get back from returning the truck, when I heard an almighty CRASH. After some investigation (and a frantic check of the A/C), it turned out to be this:

To clarify, that's the light fixture. ...yeah.
(...when I mentioned this to the landlord, his response was, "oh, yeah, that was on the floor when the last tenants moved out...I guess that must be why!" Which, *facepalm*, but on the other hand at least it's pretty clearly NOT OUR FAULT, so. Plus he brought us a lease! FUCKING FINALLY)
And then, this morning, I was sitting at the kitchen table, taking a break from putting up shelves (IN OUR CABINETS. OF WHICH WE HAVE MANY.) when THIS happened:

...yeah. Turns out there was a REASON the lesbian a block away was willing to thrown in the chairs for free! (The table, at least, is very sturdy, so I'm still calling the $25 we spent on those a deal)
AND YET, I am still extremely pleased with this state of affairs! I have put up some shelves in the kitchen cabinets, and put some things ON those shelves, and puttered around ridiculously, and just - APARTMENT. This is my face right now: :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
At some point soon, one of us will post a picspam of the entire process of relocation, and sometime next month I will start CLASSES and want to talk about other things again! ...but not right away, sry2say.

The chair was mostly just hilarious, tbh - like, one minute I was sitting in the chair, and then the next minute I was sitting on the floor! WHOOPS. I'm just glad I didn't have my computer on my lap, because euuuuuurgh.
