on our idle dreary days
been a while since I've done one of these, so:
MUSIC PIMPERY!
Shine On, Seth Bernard and Daisy May. Seriously, I cannot express to you all how much this song rocks. It's just—God, her voice blows me away, and I love this song to BITS. (and if you like it, which you will, you should really consider buying their CD. Reasonably priced, and awesome, and they're really good people who deserve your money and appreciation.)
Mount Wroclai (Idle Days), Beirut. Someone—and for the life of me I can't remember who—pimped this at me a few days ago. I wasn't sure about it, at first, but it's grown on me like vines on old buildings, and now I love it obsessively and ridiculously. It makes me twirl and waltz!
Oh My Brother, Eddie From Ohio. An old love, but no less rocking-awesome for all that. It's one of the few songs that makes me tear up, now and again, which, yes, is saying something—I don't generally get sniffy without a damn good reason. LISTEN TO IT FOR IT IS FULL OF AWESOME.
Barbed Wire Boys, Susan Werner. Another older love. Strummy midwestern fun, and OK, you need to not mock my tremendously earnest folksinger love, OK? Can we do that? Can that happen? *sigh* Just listen to the goddamn song, OK? You'll thank me.
When I Reach the Place I'm Goin', Tracy Grammer. What, you thought I'd be able to not pimp Tracy Grammer at you? Do you people know whose journal this is? Seriously, yo. Any road, I'm pretty sure this is a cover, but, well, I don't know who the original artist is, so as far as I'm concerned, it's just a Tracy Grammer song. (and, yes, that is my way of hinting that anyone who actually knows the original artist should pimp it at me now, please.)
As ever, I'd appreciate it if you'd comment—all files are yousendit, so you don't really need to, but I'd enjoy hearing who's taking what and what you all think of my choices.
*sighmutter* stupid work...
(PS: Drabble-requesting peoples, I am working on it! You are not abandoned and I still love you!)
(PPS: Beta-needing peoples, I love you too! I am working on your stuff, I promise...life is just a slice of crazy, right now.)
(PPPS: Story ideas, you know that I love you, but seriously: go the fuck away for a while, please? PLEASE? I have so much other stuff to do, right now, that it is not even funny. )
(PPPPS: Post-GUP Rodney, you can stay. And you, linguistics-professor-Fraser, and bring grad-student-Ray with you. The rest of you, seriously: piss off!)
