Things To Write: A Big Honking List
Should probably do my phonetics homework...but it's not due until Monday, so fuckit. Should maybe also be actually writing...but instead, have a progress report:
Things I Am Currently Trying To Write:
The Ones That Appear To Be Going Somewhere:
1. Ingram, in which I demonstrate my utter wrong-inside-ness and turn Rodney McKay into a woman: 10,873 words
"Hey, I've got an idea," John said. "How about we never speak or think of this again?"
2. Obadiah, the dS/SGA crossover of AMAZINGNESS (with
riverlight): 8,554 words
John smiled in spite of himself. "Nah," he joked, "the freaky space vampires are a Pegasus Galaxy exclusive."
3. The One With The Ballet, which I'm still blaming on
mutecornett: 7,941 words
"Oh my god," Rodney said, watching in horrified fascination, "is that Beckett?" It certainly looked like it, although John hadn't ever seen the good doctor dressed in a sparkly yellow dress, or descending from the ceiling on cables too thin to be seen.
4. That Thing That
trinityofone and I are writing, sort of: 2,976 words
Then again, how many people were going to fact-check a story about a small private school? Not everyone could be as suspicious as Veronica Mars.
5. The Grace Under Pressure coda, which will be lucky if it only takes me a YEAR (i.e. OH GOD WHY CAN'T I FINISH THIS?): 2,809 words
The second time he wakes up, it's because more rocks are falling on him.
6. The Thanksgiving Story – no, not that one, but the one that I started post-McKay and Mrs. Miller: 2,157 words
Forty-three days later, she's resolutely not staring at the front door, very carefully not willing the bell to ring or the knocker to thud.
AND
The Ones That Are Really More Conceptual, At This Juncture:
SGA:
7. Psamtik in Pegasus, which needs a better title but will be about the Unacceptable Experiment in the Pegasus Galaxy, and how that works out for Atlantis. Featuring Ronon Dex and small children!
8. The sexual maypole story! About how John, no, seriously, never sees it coming.
9. The one that's genderfuck, and is also set on Earth. Yes. Shut up. There are reasons, OK? Jeez, you people…
10. The Two Tents story, about who sleeps where and why, set in s1, for reasons that aren't at all clear.
dS:
11. (f)/v/k, or What I Didn't Write For
stop_drop_porn (the one that I'm still blaming
pearl_o for, to her unending dismay)
12. The one where Ray and Fraser watch BSG (which, sad to say, is nobody's fault but mine).
13. The linguistics AU (which may also be
pearl_o's fault, actually…)
14. that one dS/SPN crossover from, like, a million years ago, wtf.
As usual, any of these are fair game: ask me questions, and I'll attempt to explain. Ask me for snippets, and I'll do my best to oblige. Harass me into productivity! Because otherwise I'll probably just take a nap.
