Dear Yultide Author:

Hello!  How nice to meet someone who loves some of these ridiculous things!  Overall, I will be thrilled with anything you write—but if you want a little more guidance, here we go:

Generally, I don't care for: major character death, pining that doesn't get resolved, infidelity, rape, torture and abuse, high levels of gore, incest.

Generally, I like: porn, gender weirdness, worldbuilding, snappy dialogue & banter, domesticity, teams, found families, smart and competent characters, characters who BECOME smarter and more competent over the course of the story, absurdly codependent bff pairings, absurdly codependent frenemies-turned-relucatant-allies-turned-lovers pairings, outsider POV, pining that gets resolved, bodyswap, telepathy, fucking around with gender, fake dating / pretending to be married / woke up married, nonsexual intimacy, cuddling (for warmth or otherwise), characters taking care of each other, negotiation of kinks, characters being awkward about their kinks but then finding a partner who validates and supports them, open relationships negotiated well, shenanigans, porn.

Humans Are Space Orcs:  I love stories about aliens that are truly alien, and the ways in which humans are alien to everybody else out there.  How do people bridge those gaps—especially the gaps they're not expecting?  Bringing an alien home to meet the parents? Things inter-species couples argue about?  If you bring in language-related issues / the inherent challenges of a universal translation mechanism, I will fall over in glee, but really, anything here will be amazing. Weird alien gender shit mandatory; porn encouraged but not required!  [If you're not familiar with the canon, it's a pretty easy one: start here!]

Dimension 20: The Seven: I absolutely ADORE Antiope and Danielle—I think they're both an amazing mix of strength and uncertainty in a way that feels very real to me.  I'm particularly fascinated by Danielle's relationship with her own emotions, and the way Antiope sees her clearly; on Antiope's side, I'd love an exploration of her relationship with her family.  You could also honestly go full ensemble cast—the team as a whole is amazing—but you'd get double bonus points for including Ostentatia Wallace, the queen of my heart and unfortunately not nominated this year. 😭

Ted Lasso: I love this ensemble cast, but in particular I love Roy and Keeley: the way they trust each other, the way they're honestly more functional than most of the couples on the show (excepting Mr. & Mrs. Higgins), their frankly amazing chemistry.  I'm not in LOVE with the way S2 left them, so if you wanted to take a swing at fixing that, I'd be thrilled.  On the other hand, I would absolutely love some traditionally bonkers fandom tropes: undercover as married! accidental baby acquisition! sudden telepathy!

Sins of the Cities: PEN GIVE ME MORE PEN I WANT MORE PEN. I don't think a character has ever hit me more directly in the heart than Pen did, and I just—anything. Gender stuff! Relationship stuff! Stuff with Gret! ANYTHING.  Futurefic would be great!  Slice of life fic? Amazing, incredible.  Bonkers tropes? Why not!!

We Are Lady Parts:  I love the whole cast, but Saira is just—she stole my heart in episode one and never gave it back.  I'd love to read about her and Amina figuring their dynamic out, whether that's romantic or just a pair of (very different) friends.

Outer Wilds:  Honestly, I don't even know what kind of fic COULD be written for this canon—but if you offered it, maybe you do?  So consider this to be your official encouragement to go write whatever story has been percolating in your heart.  If you're short on ideas, anything with language / the translator thing is sure to be a hit, as is anything with gender (or the lack thereof).  This is a lot like #1 in that I love how genuinely alien the aliens are, while also feeling very familiar in some ways.
