Coup D'Etat

Interview went passing well - the guy seemed concerned about my taking a full load of classes and then working 15 hours a week, but, I mean, really? For the past three quarters, I've been doing theater of one kind or another, and that's usually closer to 20 hours a week, almost all of them in the evenings. 15 hours, M-F, between 8h30 and 5? Sounds really excellent. Apparently I'll hear back from him within a few days, though, which is good.

But that's not why we're here. We're here

Yet again, I took notes. And yet again, my love for this show knows not rhyme nor reason nor the bounds of propriety.

- I totally, totally, called it not being Lorne's team. And, sure, that was partly wishful thinking, with me being all "you can't kill Lorne! He's cute!" Still, the fact remains: I WAS RIGHT.

- I really wanted Ladin (spelling, anyone?) to be legit. Like, a lot. And, seriously, my first question, when he came to them? was "is the ZPM full?" And then I convinced myself that oh, of course they'd asked, and they just hadn't shown it on the show because it's so obvious as to be boring. And then they didn't ask. And I was reminded that for a lot of smart people, Team Atlantis is occasionally really, really not there.

- Elizabeth's playing some deep games. I like it.

- I also love John Sheppard. His little MENSA crack? too much. Also the Lt Colonel Errand Boy crack, because really? That's just perfect. Sassy in the face of danger.

- John and Rodney, and their banter in the Genii subbasement. Oh, love. I really enjoy how John just winds Rodney up, and up, and up, all the time sitting there with a smile. Mmm, yummy.

- The Genii are totally lying. CALLED IT.

- "Hell yes a raid!" Oh, John. I like you lots.

- Elizabeth, I'm in love with your eyebrows. You are arch, lady, that's what you are. And I like it. Also, you say "Go get us a ZPM!" like my mother says "Go get me some paper towels!", and I love you. I really, really do. In other news, I'm glad to see that you and Sheppard aren't being awkward around each other.

- Photos argh! wanted posters! wild wild west! SPACE COWBOYS! Ok, who's going to write me the Serenity crossover? Wherein the crew of Serenity goes bounty hunter on Sheppard and McKay, which, ok, wouldn't actually happen - mostly it's just an excuse to get John and Rodney on Serenity, where they can annoy Jayne, endear themselves to Kaylee, and make River giggle, and in their turn get freaked out by, um, everything. And also have sex.

- In his picture, Rodney is adorkable. That is just the truth. Although, really - why is he on that mission, anyways? I mean, if he had stuff to check on the ZPM, to see if it had power...but, no. He doesn't. He's totally just there because his boyfriend is.

- Oh, Ronon. Don't worry, sweetie - you're a threat to me! You'll always be a threat to me!

- Rodney sait faire les gestes! ...and if you know where that comes from, you're as sad of a soul as I am. Seriously, though - I've always wondered about those silly hand signals, and it tickles me pink to see him use them (or, well, try to). Teyla was using them in - I think Epiphany? And now Rodney! The team is all rubbing off on each other: Rodney's doing military gestures and carrying a gun, John's being even more of a smartass than usual, Teyla's getting mathy, Ronon's getting seriously mellow in his speech patterns...Atlantis is love! Someone needs to take that fact, and to write team!porn. Or just write team!porn. That would be good, too.

- Dear the Genii, have you ever heard of solitary confinement it might be a good idea hmm? ok bye.

- yay for the doublecross. YAY.

CONCLUSION: I think it's funny that this episode was all about me saying "Dude, I KNEW IT!", and yet I loved it to pieces. Also, this episode struck me as one that really makes John and Rodney be boyfriends. I mean, seriously. Not awkward - just clearly dating. You know what I'm talking about.

In other news, I really want someone to make a songvid to Erin McKeown's "White City", which is my new SGA song - it's all happy and accomplishmenty.
